The Charlie Bird Hand of Friendship Walk with Samaritans
Charlie Bird will lead a special Hand of Friendship Walk for Samaritans on Sunday, April 16th. The veteran broadcaster will lead a 5km walk through Avondale Forest Park in Rathdrum, Co Wicklow, with Samaritans volunteers and supporters. The Charlie Bird Hand of Friendship Walk with Samaritans is being generously supported by Coillte, inviting the public to participate in 5km and 1km walks at beautiful Avondale and other Coillte sites across the country on the day.
The walks are open to everyone; many Coillte trails are buggy and wheelchair friendly so check the links below for more information. Then please sign up to join Samaritans volunteers and supporters on April 16th to extend the hand of friendship and increase awareness of the work of Samaritans. Donations received will support Samaritans branches around the country as our listening volunteers provide emotional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to anyone who is in distress, lonely, struggling to cope or feeling suicidal.
Date: Sunday, April 16th, 2023
If you are not participating in a walk, you can still support this event by clicking the “Donate” button.
All funds raised will support the Samaritans’ work – the only charity in Ireland offering emotional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to anyone who is in distress, lonely, struggling to cope, or feeling suicidal.
